Counselor Certification & Training Programs
The Diversion Center offers Counselor Certification and Training Programs, curricula for facilitating court-mandated classes, consulting services to help you start your own court-mandated treatment facility, and workbooks that help to keep clients engaged and interested in their classes.
Each workbook encourages self-reflection and teaches that self-awareness is the key to mastering their addiction, criminal thoughts and actions, and improving their lives long-term. The books have between 100 and 150 pages of content, and are designed for group programs, although they can be used in individual sessions as well. Our books are self-published, and not labeled for resale. The workbooks do not have instructor manuals, as they are designed to be used by counselors at any stage in their careers. They largely require subjective responses intended to make the clients think about different situations and their experiences, rather than giving a right or wrong answer.

Curriculum for Counselors
Certified Shoplifting and Theft Addiction Specialist Training
This training delivers deeper insight into why people shoplift and commit acts of theft. By completing this training, facilitators will be able to provide court mandated shoplifting classes and effectively work with offenders who have committed crimes of theft and shoplifting.
Trainees will receive 6 CEs approved by NAADAC for completion of this training. Trainees have 14 days from the date of enrolling to complete the training, although the training itself will take only 6 hours to complete.
Certified Anger Management Specialist Training
This training breaks down the science of anger and how to effectively reduce negative emotional outbursts. This certification training allows you to offer anger management classes to court mandated or private clients in a one-on-one or group sessions.
Trainees will receive 6 CEs approved by NAADAC for completion of this training. Trainees have 14 days from the date of enrolling to complete the training.
Certified Parenting Instructor Training
This training reviews important topics discussed in parenting and will certify you to teach court mandated parenting classes. The topics reviewed in this course include building rapport, understanding child development, adverse childhood experiences, healthy communication, positive discipline, and more.
Trainees have 14 days from the date of enrolling to complete the training. No continuing education hours are included in this training.
How to Start a Court Mandated Business
If you were ever interested in learning how to provide court mandated classes, this training will give the insight you need to start a court mandated business. This training will reveal how to setup and advertise your program.
No counselor certification or continuing education hours are included in this training. Individual coaching sessions and program materials are available at a separate cost.
